Why we built Folkslip

It started with a Slack message: "Hey, can you send over last month's receipts?" Then another one. Then ten more.

Every time, we'd say "sure, I'll get them during the week." And every time, we wouldn't. We'd spend a panicked evening digging through Gmail, searching for Wolt orders, Google invoices, Bolt receipts, hotel bookings. Scattered across dozens of providers and buried under thousands of emails.

We'd screenshot some, download others, miss a few, and eventually send a messy zip file with half the receipts missing. Our accountant would follow up. We'd feel guilty. Same thing next month.

We were tired of being that person.

We genuinely needed to stop embarrassing ourselves every month. So we built Folkslip. Connect your Gmail, and it finds every receipt automatically. AI scans your inbox, recognizes receipts from hundreds of providers, extracts the amounts and dates, and organizes everything in one place.

We built it for ourselves. Every founder, freelancer, and small team we talked to had the exact same problem. Chasing receipts is something everyone does and everyone hates.
